AbstractAn account is given of a method for the derivation of LEO satellite navigation data from Kalman filtering of measurements from a GPS satellite quartet. An investigation is conducted of different GPS-based tracking algorithm versions which are associated with various levels of performance, complexity, storage requirements and computational speed. It is shown that this GPS-employing method is a reliable alternative to ground tracking, with substantial savings in mission costs.
